Cragganmore is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery founded in 1869 by John Smith at Ballindalloch, Scotland. An experienced distiller who had previously worked with several prominent Scotch whisky distilleries, Smith selected the site for its reliable water source and convenient access to the railway, allowing raw materials and whisky to be transported efficiently. Today, Cragganmore is owned by Diageo. The distillery draws its water from the nearby Craggan Burn and uses both approximately 60-hour and 90-hour fermentation periods to create different flavour characteristics. Cragganmore is particularly noted for its distinctive flat-topped stills and traditional worm tub condensers, equipment that contributes to the complex character of its spirit. Cragganmore whisky is known for a layered and well-balanced profile combining sweet floral aromas, honey, vanilla, herbs and malt with a subtle touch of smoke. Cragganmore 12 Year Old is the distillery's best-known core expression and forms part of Diageo's Classic Malts collection. Cragganmore spirit is also an important component in blended Scotch whisky, particularly Old Parr.
